I went through a big Steampunk phase around 2018 and even if I am not as obssessed with it, I still LOVE this genre for its rich layering of material, historical lessons and the mysticism that is now all a part of it! Steampunk combines the metals, clockwork, steam trains, automaton, travel and the ideology of futuristic travels and invention of the turn of the 19th C, Victorian Era. It speaks of the world of imagination and magick, all that I stand for!
This fantastical piece has layers upon layers, of mirrors, metals, gemstones, Chinese coin, mushrooms and even has a soviet era watch gear box with genuine rubies. It represents the looking within at the fractured self, the many layers, the many part of us that exist at any point, the multiverse of selves, where time, identity and reality no longer means anything. And that all we have is THIS ONE MOMENT, nothing really is real! What really matters after all this?
